Introducing the Brand New Rat Range
BORN OF THE SHADOWS, CRAFTED FOR THE BOLD.
Today marks the release of our brand new range, led by a beer you might already know quite well…
The Rat range emerges from the Ossett Brewery nest. Venturing out from our Huddersfield brewpub, The Rat and Ratchet, Rat stands confidently on its own four feet. Leading the pack is the award-winning White Rat.
White Rat was first brewed back in September 2011, then known as Lab Rat for a test brew at the Rat Brewery. The iconic hoppy ale was designed specifically to match the drinking preferences of the regulars in the pub, culminating in a 4% spikey pale that was (and still is) ahead of its time. White Rat has come a long way since its inception; this pale ale has become our best-selling beer, winning countless awards and recognitions around the UK and beyond.
The evolution of Rat continues not just with White Rat, but with a wider pack of new brews to round out the range. Let us introduce you to the Rat family:
King Rat – Bow To The King
Pledge your allegiance to King Rat, a bold and brash leader delivering big, juicy flavours to his hop-loving loyalists. A Hazy 7.4% Hazy IPA loaded with Citra, Galaxy and Topaz Hops. Hazy, juicy and oozing with stonefruit flavour.
Hell Rat – Rat Outta Hell
Defiant and untamed, Hell Rat is a crisp, fresh Helles lager forged in the unrelenting fires of the underworld. reserved for sinners, not saints. A refreshing 4% Helles style lager brewed with extra pale malt. Fresh, crisp, light, smooth and seriously crushable.
Lab Rat – It’s Alive!
Born from clever science and a touch of dark sorcery, Lab Rat emerges from the test bench with a tart, zesty twist on the classic key lime pie. A juicy sessionable 4.5% sour with notes of sweet limes and an irresistible biscuit base, brewed to perfection. Zesty, sweet, lip-puckering and moreish.
Fat Rat – Pure Decadence
Give way to the gluttonous Fat Rat, a decedent drop of liquid pudding that's elegantly rich yet delightfully devilish. Treat yourself. Dive into pleasure. A decadent 8% dessert stout loaded with hazelnut, chocolate and marshmallow. Thick and luxurious - the ultimate indulgence.
And this is just the beginning for the Rat range. Expect to see more bold, boundary-pushing brews on the horizon. Expect fresh releases that continue to challenge convention and keep ale enthusiasts coming back for more.
