ABOUT US
We’ve been crafting exceptional beers since 1998 - born from northern roots and shaped by brewing know-how. No faff, no fuss - just great beer, brewed to be shared, savoured, and enjoyed.

- SINCE 1998 -
OSSETT BREWING COMPANY LTD.
Founded by ex-Tetley brewer Bob Lawson in 1998, Ossett Brewery began as a small brewpub in a disused building at the back of The Brewers on Healey Road, Ossett. With business thriving and the development of the Ossett Brewery Pub estate in 2003 by Bob's son and current co-owner - Jamie Lawson, the brewery expands and moves next door to the old factory site on Kings Yard where we remain today.

Complete with increased tank capacity, a new packaging building, and a full refit of the existing brewhouse in 2017, Ossett Brewery now employs over 650 people, brews over 50,000 brewers barrels a year, operates 32 own branded pubs and bars, and has national distribution in pubs across the UK and all the major supermarkets.
THE FRESHEST BEER, BREWED WITH FRESH ATTITUDE.
This is modern brewing and a quarter century of fierce independence. It’s brewing steeped in passion, and beers that have stood the test of time, but never once stood still. From a pioneering brewpub, to an unrelenting powerhouse, this was craft before we ever called it that.
THIS IS OSSETT BREWERY.

- SINCE 2003 -
OSSETT BREWERY PUB COMPANY
With over 25 branded venues across North and West Yorkshire, you can enjoy our latest crafts at your local pubs ranging from historic traditional inns to eateries and live music hotspots.

- SINCE 2011 -
RAT BREWERY
Housed beneath The Rat and Ratchet and since the very first brew of Lab Rat in 2011, head brewer, Paul Spencer and brewer Robin Moss, have created rodent themed beers to critical acclaim. Our beers are distinctive, extreme, generally intensely hopped and anything but average, experimenting with a range of different beer styles, strengths and ingredients. Rat beer is now infecting all four corners of the UK faster than the Black Death, turning a local infestation into a national plague. White Rat in particular has emerged as the flagship beer and now sits within the Ossett core range.

- SINCE 2009 -
RIVERHEAD BREWERY
The Riverhead brew-pub opened in 1995, with Ossett Brewery purchasing the site in 2009. The core range are named after local reservoirs, with the height of the reservoir relating to the strength of the beer. Brewer, Richard Armitage, has created many new beers whilst retaining the old local favourites such as Butterley and Redbrook. The Riverhead is our smallest brewery, which now boasts a new five brewers barrel plant producing just fourteen firkins per brew which means the majority of Riverhead beers are sold through the Brewery Tap itself.
