In case you missed it, the brand new Rat range has emerged from the Ossett Brewery nest, led proudly by our award-winning White Rat Pale Ale. Joining this legendary beer on draught is our new helles lager: Hell Rat. 

What Is Hell Rat? 

Defiant and untamed, Hell Rat is a crisp, fresh Helles lager forged in the unrelenting fires of the underworld. reserved for sinners, not saints. A refreshing 4% Helles style lager brewed with extra pale malt. Fresh, crisp, light, smooth and seriously crushable. This unrivaled taste is down to the brewing process, where the liquid is lagered for much longer than other lagers you might find on the bar. This technique has been spearheaded by our expert brew team, replicating methods they have learned through years in the industry and honing their craft.  

Escaping the depths of the underworld and heading straight for the bar, Hell Rat is the first of the new range available in 50L kegstar format, ready for perfect pints in the beer garden this Summer. 

With the look of a classic, bright and clear lager, Hell Rat delivers a soft and light mouthfeel that’s refreshingly dry on the finish. Flavours of herbal notes from the Tettnang hops pair with the slight maltiness in taste and aroma, with light floral notes also present on the nose. 

Where can I get it? 

Hell Rat is available across the Ossett Brewery estate in 50L kegstar from Monday 28th April 2025. You can also pick up 440ml cans from our webshop too.
